The Road Films

Set in 1941, as the United States joins the war and draft letters are sent out, Oliver struggles with the decision to leave his family, especially with a father suffering from PTSD and two younger siblings. Seeking solace, he turns to his best friend Josiah, whose family has a long history of military service and expects him to enlist, though Josiah is uncertain. The war soon separates them during deployment in France. As they become further apart, Josiah, ignoring his own safety, embarks on a desperate search for Oliver behind enemy lines, all while losing touch with reality.

As the writer, producer, director, and assistant editor of both of these films, I guided the project from concept to completion. I aimed to highlight the raw intensity and emotional complexity of the characters’ experiences, especially in moments often underexplored. Through careful direction and collaboration, I sought to capture the dramatic, difficult moments with authenticity, ensuring that the story’s most poignant and challenging emotions were brought to the forefront.
